About Politically Absurd

Does politics stress you out? I completely understand. These days, it seems like everyone hates each other and the world is ending.

Well, allow me to tell you a secret: it's not and they don't. It just seems like that because the angriest voices are often the loudest.

Not only is U.S. politics not nearly as heated as you might think, but it's also a lot funnier than you might expect. You'd be surprised at just how many silly stories there are from U.S. political history. Personally, I've found that the more silliness I discover in our political system, the less anxious I feel about politics in general.

So, tune in for a laugh and to hopefully come to the realization that politics isn't as horrible as it seems.

Meet Your Host

Hey, everyone! I'm Jenna, the host of Politically Absurd and podcaster-in-training.

In my nearly four years studying political science, I've learned a lot of really important stuff- I’ve studied well over 100 Supreme Court cases, I know how to conduct research using the Congressional Record, and I can find ideological breakdowns for almost any vote taken by Congress in American history.

Most importantly, however, I’ve learned a lot of stupid, funny stories about the government and the people who work there, and now I finally get to put them to good use. Join me, a former political news junkie turned anxious mess and all-around news avoider, as I take a step back from the hot button issues of the day and bring a little joy back into the political arena.
